The Bureau is joined by 22 states in their drive to find the people who broke into the PlayStation Network. With millions of people’s personal information compromised, it probably isn’t surprising that the federal government is getting involved. When contacted by Kotaku, the FBI confirmed it’s involvement in the case:
“The FBI is aware of the reports concerning the alleged intrusion into the Sony on line game server and we have been in contact with Sony concerning this matter,” said FBI special agent Darrell Foxworth. “We are presently reviewing the available information in an effort to determine the facts and circumstances concerning this alleged criminal activity.”
In the mean time, we advise you to continue staying vigilant for any suspicious activity on your bank or credit card accounts.
