Nvidia plans to launch lower end cards to apeal to the mainstream and compete with ATI products such as the hd5830 and hd5770.
According to German site 3D Center, the first GPU will be GF104. The site says that 3 GF104 variants will be introduced: GeForce GTS 450, GTS 440, and GTS 430. Shader counts will be 256 for the GTS 450 and 440, with the GTS 430 shipping with 192 shaders. The site says that the 450 and 440 will also feature a 256-bit memory interface, with the 450 taking on ATI’s Radeon 5830, while the 440 will presumably go after the 5770. Supposedly NVIDIA’s shooting for clocks of 725MHz core/1500MHz shaders/1800MHz memory.
GF104 cards are expected to arrive this summer.
