Due to apparent violations to the Steam user agreement. About one month ago, a user on Reddit posted a message pondering just how much one would pay for the approximately $1,800 worth of Steam games on his account.
Sadly for the user, the banhammer came striking down. In just a few weeks, his Steam access was completely revoked; making every single one of the 149 games inaccessible. An email exchange between the user and Valve staff details the situation:
The user later reiterated on Reddit that he only intended to find out how much a person would pay for his account. However, a separate Reddit post showed that the user did intend to sell his account, but was retracted less than a month ago.
Regardless of whether he actually violated Steam’s user agreement or not however, it does bring in another question: should software like this be available for resale?
