Oracle CEO Calls HP Board “Idiots”

The billionaire recently gave the board members quite a tongue-lashing in an e-mail. By now most of you have heard the fiasco surrounding Hewlett Packard’s recently ousted CEO Mark Hurd after allegations of sexual harassment. In an email sent to the New York Times, fellow buddy and Oracle CEO Larry Ellison attacked the HP board for their “political correctness”:

“The HP board just made the worst personnel decision since the idiots on the Apple board fired Steve Jobs many years ago”

Considering the fact that the sexual harassment allegations were later discovered to have no merit whatsoever, Ellison may actually have some weight on this statement.

“Publishing known false sexual harassment claims is not good corporate governance; it’s cowardly corporate political correctness.”

The woman in question that caused the ruckus is Jodie Fisher, a former actress that appeared in the reality TV show Age of Love among other things.

She later gave her own statement through her lawyer that nothing happened between the two:

“Mark and I never had an affair or intimate sexual relationship…I was surprised and saddened that Mark Hurd lost his job over this…That was never my intention.”

So, was there actually something going on behind closed doors? or was this simply another round of corporate in-fighting? who knows. Whatever the case maybe, Wall Street definitely isn’t happy about it.
