Markus Persson aka Notch, the creator of Minecraft, has announced via his website that he is leaving Mojang once the Microsoft sale is complete. I started playing Minecraft in 2010 before alpha was released and I was introduced to mine craft the year before. Being with a game from the very beginning, testing his builds, requesting features, interacting with the community and seeing the game take shape over the past 4 years is something special. That is what is so great about indie games.
It comes as a shock today, when I checked his twitter that he announced his leaving Mojang once Microsoft has purchased the company. The mind behind Minecraft is leaving his company. A few weeks ago, maybe in July, he came out with a blog post stating that he was giving up his next big game project because it was turning into something he didn’t enjoy making. You could sense the pressure he was feeling about making a game that is as revolutionary as Minecraft. I guess he never wanted the attention.
Good luck in your future endeavors Mr. Persson.

If you wish to read his statement, you can do so here, or you can check his Twitter.
Seems like the end of an era that one.
Yup, sadly… just seems like he wants to be left alone from now on.
I always felt like Notch wouldnt be able to make another good game to save his life.
