Gaming on such a high resolution is the future, though this might be a tad bit early for laptops. Despite the GT60 sporting a GTX 780m, pushing over 4.5 million pixels at 60FPS seems unlikely for today’s games. Sporting all the usual gaming features like a Killer Wireless chip, the machine comes in at a modest $2,100.

Perhaps sensing the value of high-resolution screens outside of gaming, MSI has also released a workstation version sporting a 4GB Quadro K3100 ($2,800) for the 3D designers out there. Sadly, both are probably not going to win any awards for their looks; especially with Alienware’s redesigned line as well as Razer’s Blade series.

15.6 with that resolution? It’s going to be a pain in the ass to see anything. It’s also going to be a huge strain on the system for no obvious reason (unless anyone of you guys can notice that resolution in that display size?)
They should move up a few inches if they want this to be taken seriously.
Very cool. $2,100 for a laptop with a 780m and a 2800×16020 display isn’t bad; it could be worse. At least vendors are realizing that there is a need for improved displays on laptops. Not just in terms of resolution, but also in terms of viewing angles, color reproduction, and contrast. OLED should fix all of those issues anyway *crosses fingers for affordable laptops with anti-glare OLED displays.*
Agreed. I just hope they also realize that with the addition of tablets, laptops can move up in size and become more competitive with desktops.
