Microsoft Creative Director Bashes People Against Online Only DRM in Next Xbox

Adam Orth, Creative Director at Microsoft Studios had a few choice words with some individuals worried about online only for the the Next Xbox. On twitter things got quite heated when asked about Online Only DRM.

As you can see there are some snide remarks for individuals living in rural areas along with some cruel analogies. Furthermore, the Neogaf forums also has quite an interesting rundown of some of the conversations that took place, one of which involved a Senior gameplay designer at BioWare.

This of course sparked a reply from Microsoft, in which they apologized for the comments made by the employee.

We apologize for the inappropriate comments made by an employee on Twitter yesterday. This person is not a spokesperson for Microsoft, and his personal views do not reflect the customer centric approach we take to our products or how we would communicate directly with our loyal consumers. We are very sorry if this offended anyone, however we have not made any announcements about our product roadmap, and have no further comment on this matter.

So, will the next Xbox have an online only connection? Well, it seems that a developer by the name of Nick Mohilchock on the Evil Avatar forums vaguely confirms such accusations.

Given that legally I cannot confirm or deny if this information is true, nor can I comment on rumor or speculation, all I can say is be sure to pay your ISP bills ;).
