Capcom: Resident Evil 2 Remake Possible with Demand

Capcom producer, Yoshiaki Hirabayashi, has stated that a Resident Evil 2 remake could be possible if the fans demand it. In a similar fashion to the Dark Souls port on the PC, Capcom is putting the pressure on the community to rise up and show that the demand for a remake is there.

Just to lay all the cards on the table, that way there’s no rumor-mongering or things like that, no, we are not working on a Resident Evil 2 remake as of now. But if the fans really clamor for it; if there’s a groundswell of support for remaking that game, then I think that’s something Capcom would take under consideration.

However, this time instead of a petition, it is starting out with a facebook page. Everything has to start somewhere, and it is important to spread the word. So, that’s why we here at Pixel Smashers would like you to check out the facebook page and give it a like. Every single vote passed their way counts. Your actions do matter and if enough people get things going, we may in fact see a proper remake for one of the most praised survival horror games from our generation.

So, again don’t forget to visit the Resident Evil Remake Facebook page and show them some love.

Update:

You can also sign this petition here. Remember to tell your friends and take part in both the petition and the facebook page. We need to get the message to Capcom that the fans want a proper Resident Evil 2 Remake.
