Smaller, lighter, and more initial storage space.
Shaving off 25% in size and 20% in weight, the new redesign will come in three different variants (and two colors) according to hard drive size: 250GB, 500GB, and one with only 12GB of flash memory which will be unavailable in North America.
Power draw has been reduced to 190w vs the Slim’s 250w.
The US 250GB version will first ship for $270 bundled with Uncharted 3 and a $30 DUST 514 PSN voucher. The 500GB version is still under-wraps.
No word yet on any changes for the Cell and RSX chips’ nm size, though one might assume a smaller process given the lower power draw.

I have to say the Blu Ray drive on the top is crappy now since you have to slide the thing open. The old slot loader was much better. This whole thing has some sort of 80s vibe to it. With that said, it’s nice that they made it smaller and thinner. I just hope they come to their sense about the way the implmented the blu ray drive.
This is probably the last model we’ll see anyway. They’re cutting down costs till they get the unit they need for the ps4 era. ps2 saw 2 versions, ps3 saw 3. If this one is more durable and cost effective, it will almost certainly be the last one.
