By some guy called Mark. Sadly, and perhaps expected, there isn’t much information, just a few things Mark has listed.
- The next game will be called Dragon Age III: Inquisition.
- We won´t be talking about the story of the game today. Though you can make some guesses from the title.
- This game is being made by a lot of the same team that has been working on Dragon Age since Dragon Age: Origins. It´s composed of both experienced BioWare veterans and talented new developers.
- We are working on a new engine which we believe will allow us to deliver a more expansive world, better visuals, more reactivity to player choices, and more customization. At PAX East, we talked about armour and followers Yeah, that kind of customisation. We´ve started with Frostbite 2 from DICE as a foundation to accomplish this.
Good list so far, lets just hope it works out. You can read his full letter (and Mark’s credential spiel) at their main website.

I am not a Dragon Age fan, but the frostbite 2 engine seems like a nice step forward.
*sigh* lets see how bad they F it up
AGAIN
lol it’s funny though, they made their own engine for DA1, then another one for DA2 (or was it the first one but improved or whatever they call that) and then they make one more for DA3 based on frostbite this time. Sigh lol
If they make a middle ground between 1 and 2 with less idiotic mechanics in and a valid script that doesn’t make it seem like they got lazy I’m game. I liked character development in both games personally.
they made squat its all UE3
The first one too? They were insisting they were working on their own engine, unless they simply meant they made an engine based on UE3 or something of the sort? Either way, worst UE3 execution ever then, DA2 was terrible.
well ME2 and 3 are all unreal, and the only plausible conclusion is that the other bioware games are UE3 as well, i mean why would you make an engine that takes years to develop and then stop using it after the 1st game
