Nvidia shows off Tegra 2 at I/O

During Google’s I/O conference nvidia showed off their new Tegra 2 mobile GPU running on an android based platform. Nvidia had two Cortex A9 ARM-based processors combined with a nvidia Tegra 2 running some iphone football game at 720p.

the Android-based device is powered by a 1Ghz Tegra 2 platform which combines a dual core Cortex A9 ARM-based processor with Nvidia graphics.

“The Cortex A9 has about 25 percent more power than the A8 chip present [in] the iPad, but bear in mind that with more power, RAM and USB ports means less battery life which was the problem with the discontinued HP Slate and all the high powered tablets that have been announced so far,” explained iSlate’s Nick Schooler.
