GDDR6 Graphics Memory to be Available in 2014

We can look forward to GPUs using GDDR6 memory for the foreseeable future. The new memory standard, which was originally developed by AMD, will be designed to last up until 2020 (or possibly longer). To put some perspective on the longevity that pertains to this new graphics standard, GDDR3 was developed in 2004 and is still being used in graphics hardware today. Thus far, that’s an 8 year life cycle. So, six years plus for GDDR6 doesn’t sound unreasonable.
