Perhaps a glimpse of what our next generation graphics will showcase. Probably in a shooter. OTOY developer, Sam Lapere has created a small ray-tracing demo titled “The Streets of Asia”. Currently running on twin GTX 580s, the real-time demo features some impressive lighting as expected for tracing technlogies:
The example isn’t quite ready for gameplay just yet though; there’s a bit of noise in the rendering when movement is present, but it’s still impressive nonetheless.
Now we just need to see that 3GB HD version.

if only it was an HD vid. Looks interesting though.
Hopefully, they fine tune their algorithm to eliminate the grain with their engine in the future. However, this is very impressive.
The pictures look phenomenal! The video definitely doesn’t do them justice, but it does show some rather impressive lighting effects.
