Without any screenshots, video, or concept art. Though perhaps the very idea of an HD-enhanced relaunch is good enough.
Originally launched the same year as Diablo II, Baldur’s Gate, while not as flashy as its Blizzard counterpart, made up for it with story and depth. Combining the massive lore of the Forgotten Realms along with an innovative real-time AD&D combat system, Baldur’s Gate was one of the pinnacles of western RPGs at the time and a break-out hit for BioWare.
Of course by today’s standards, the sprites and colorful backgrounds may seem like stone-age technology; especially with the rise of wide-screen resolutions. It remains to be seen on just how this game will be remade as the details are still up for interpretation:
Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition™ and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition™ will feature a re-forged version of the Infinity Engine with a variety of modern improvements.
By “modern improvements” do they mean proper screen stretching or are they rebuilding the entire engine in 3D? Thankfully, the story should remain the same; some of BioWare’s most recent games have left us wanting.

Well if they go and get atari’s (obsidian’s) aurora (improved over Neverwinter1 aurora) but with DnD2 rules…. it’s going to look fine for any fan 🙂
I will definitely be playing the BG1 nwn2 mod personally. A fanmade mod. If this is anything close to the quality those guys are offering, I’ll be all for it 😀
