Oddly enough, the game will also be available for the Wii. Square Enix is sticking with Nintendo’s platforms for their next installment in the extremely popular Dragon Quest series with an online variant.
The game will be available on two platforms, the Wii and the upcoming Wii U with confirmed cross-platform play. Gamers may also use their 3DS as a sort of character transfer device for the game.
It is unclear at this point if Square Enix intends to charge a subscription fee for playing, as the website currently puts a “TBA” on a usage fee. Release is expected for 2012.
Sadly, it appears that Level 5 will not be working on this game, despite being the developers for the past two hits, Dragon Quest VIII and Dragon Quest IX.
