Kinect Gets Patent Trolled

If you thought Apple’s patent lawsuit against HTC was ridiculous, Microsoft’s new accuser brings in more of the same absurdities. Impulse Technology, a firm based in Ohio, is suing Microsoft for allegedly infringing on seven of their patents over technology used in Microsoft’s Kinect device.

Two of the patents are as follows:

US Patent 7,791,808 – “System and method for tracking and assessing movement skills in multidimensional space.”
US Patent 6,749,432 – “Education system challenging a subject’s physiologic and kinesthetic systems to synergistically enhance cognitive function.”

The suit also names publishers such as EA among the defendants for making games for the Kinect.
