Nintendo Sued For 3DS Screen Technology

Yet another patent troll? Maybe, just maybe they’ll have a case this time. Tomita Technologies has sued Nintendo over their 3DS screen alleging a patent violation that was granted in 2008. First applied in 2002 (a testament to the speed of the US patent office), the patent is titled the following: “Stereoscopic Image Picking Up and Display System Based Upon Optical Axes Cross-Point Information, which, in a nutshell is a “technology relating to displaying stereoscopic images on-screen for viewing with the naked eye, i.e., without utilizing glasses or other devices.”

Considering that the patent was granted in 2008, one has to wonder why it took them this long to file the violation, not to mention the various other devices that use the same type of technology.
