Opening the Instagram app
To begin the process of editing an Instagram post, the first step is to open the Instagram app on your phone.
This usually involves finding the app’s icon, which resembles a camera, on your device’s home screen or app drawer and tapping on it.
Once the app has launched, you’ll need to navigate to your profile page.
This can be done by tapping on the profile icon, which is typically located at the bottom right of the screen.
This icon looks like a person or a silhouette of a person.
Selecting the post to edit
On your profile page, you’ll see a grid of all your posts.
Simply scroll through your posts and select the one you want to edit.
This could be any post, for example, a throwback picture from your summer vacation that you want to add a location to.
Accessing the edit option
After selecting your post, you’ll need to tap on the three-dot icon in the top right corner of the post.
From the menu that appears, select the ‘Edit’ option.
This opens the screen where you can make your desired changes.
Making the desired changes
Now it’s time to make the desired changes to your post. You could edit the caption, tag people, or add a location.
For example, you could change the caption from Summer vibes to Throwback to my summer vacation in Hawaii.
You can also tag friends or add the location where the picture was taken.
Saving the changes
Once you’re satisfied with your changes, you can save them by tapping on the ‘Done’ or ‘Check Mark’ on the top right of the screen.
Your post will now reflect your new edits.
Editing an Instagram post is a simple process that can be done in a few short steps.
Now that you know how, you can update your posts to better reflect your experiences or to add missing details.
