Sony “Playstation Certified” Tablet Confirmed

The device is slated to launch before the end of this year. After much rumor-mongering from tech websites, Sony CEO, Howard Stringer, let slip to the Japanese Business Magazine, Nikkei, of the imminent release of their first tablet by the end of summer.

Sony then made the release date more ambiguous by stating that their planned release will be before the end of 2011, possibly buying the design team more time if needed.

The tablet is expected to run Google’s latest Android 3.0 software, dubbed Honeycomb, and is rumored to sport NVidia’s Tegra 2 processor. You can check out the mock up image that engadget originally published.
