Rumor: UBI Games are removed from Steam because of DRM

Currently UBIsoft titles containing the DRM like Silent Hunter 5 and Assasin’s Creed 2 are no longer available on steam in the UK. This does not affect the U.S. at the moment.

Ubitsoft stated that:

‘The games listed are available for sale in all other countries on Steam. The fact they are not available on Steam UK has nothing to do with the DRM – but is linked to a local business discussion between Ubisoft and Steam in UK.’

However, some industry insider had a different story.

A PC games industry insider told us this morning: “It’s the latest in the Ubisoft DRM blow-up. Steam doesn’t want to lose its reputation for customer service, and these games have angered its user-base.”
