A programmer has earned the $3,000 prize for developing open source Kinect drivers. Earlier we reported on another programmer and the initial $2000 prize. However, the prize winner was ultimately the user who released their code first. Youtube user, marcan42 posted a video of the drivers and he is now taking in 3,000 dollars.
If you look in the video’s comments you will find a link to the code: marcansoft.com
This coder also had his hands on the Kinect for about 3 hours after the European launch. He also states how easy it is to interface with. Further, more adafruit, the ones who gave away the prize, donated an additional $2,000 to the EFF, which protect their hacking rights.
