For Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users. In a somewhat surprising announcement from today’s Windows showcase, Microsoft’s next operating system will be a completely free upgrade for those still running Windows 7 machines or stuck with Microsoft Bob Windows 8.1.
This follows in the footsteps of Apple’s free smaller updates for OS X since Mountain Lion. Don’t take it as an apology from Microsoft however, it simply sets up a new business model for their Office 365 and OneDrive services.
The preview will be available next week

Windows 10 looks pretty good. They did improve the command prompt and allowed control c and v to work for copy and paste in addition to bringing back the start menu with some metro features.
However, as gamers, I read that DX12 will be windows 10 only. So, if you have an nvidia card from the 4 series and up you may want to jump onto windows 10 asap.
Good stuff. I’ll be making the switch, which will most likely coincide with a GPU upgrade to the GTX 1080 (reminds me of 1080 snowboarding :P).
