iFixit’s teardown unveils a pretty simple box design. No super-special looking engineering going on here, the innards of the new Xbox One are about as plain as can be:
An SoC with a large heatsink on one side and storage devices on the others, it most certainly looks like something you’d get off of Newegg. For years, some PC gamers have stated that consoles are no more than stripped down PCs, and this console just gives them more fuel for that fire. Your move, Steambox.

that looks…. cheap?
We all knew they were doing this. I mean look at the size of the box, then think of the fact it doesn’t contain the psu and then that it has the same stuff the ps4 does. It was either going to have a ton of cooling or a ton of space. :p
Keeping it simple tends to be a good idea when it comes to hardware and the xbox360 proved that with all its RRODs.
I’m mostly annoyed by the 5400 rpm hdd. We’re moving on to ssds on pc and those idiots used a laptop drive? :/
I’d have liked to see more screws in there as well, and less plastic clips. Then you could have more case-modded xbox ones which could potentially make the console more desirable.
