It certainly makes things easier for us PC gamers. Remember those annoying QTEs in Tomb Raider? Remember when you failed to press them correctly and watched Lara die a gruesome death from the most ridiculous things? Welp, they aren’t going to be in Thief. In a community blog post, Eidos has stated that they have removed every single QTE event in the game since the E3 showcase:
Valerie:Easy, we’re not implementing them. To begin with, there were very few instances of QTEs in the game; in fact there was only one in that whole hour-long E3 demo. However, given the strong reactions it evoked in the press and the community, it was an easy decision to do away with them entirely. So we’re not doing it. No quick time.
Now of course, that doesn’t mean they won’t make you press things to turn a valve or slide a door open, but at least we won’t be seeing any frantic button presses in the middle of a fire fight.
