Yes it’s a zombie game. With third person shooting. With base building. For those that have never played (or even heard of) this game on Xbox Live Arcade, the zombie shooter/simulator/survival/basebuilder is for those who want a bit more to play with than the average undead shooting gallery.
As an open world game, State of Decay allows you to set a home base and rescue/recruit survivors to help secure a location while scavenging the world for gear and essentials. Base customization allows such things as walls, guard towers, medical stations, and even small gardens to grow your own food.
Sadly, the port only supports an Xbox 360 gamepad at the moment; KB/M will come later. Priced at $20.

It should be noted that this is part of Early Access. It is not finished. The developed have warned that they still have work to do and there may be big bugs, crashes, and other issues. People are having trouble with achievements working at the moment. There is SOME keyboard and mouse support, however it is obviously very early and you have to memorize the buttons.
Got it and played a bit today. I like it and didn’t have issues beyond setting my resolution (no 2560×1440 support, jumps from 1080p to…2160p?)
Certainly needs optimization but that’s to be expected it runs and plays far better than Dead Island though.
Otherwise I didn’t encounter any bugs that I noticed, but I only played maybe 30-40 minutes.
