Affordable 14″ laptops have been lacking in the display department over the past few years, but Lenovo is out to make a difference. If you haven’t seen our Lenovo y460 screen upgrade tutorial, then go check it out. This tutorial was produced because of the many users out there who were tired of the inefficient and lack luster glossy 1366×768 14″ resolution displays. Now, with the advent of the y410p, Lenovo is looking to up its game with a better display and affordable price tag.

Specifications

Processor: 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ Processor (2.40GHz 1600MHz 6MB)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT750M GDDR5 2GB
Display: 14.0″ HD+ Anti-Glare LED Backlit with integrated camera 1600×900
RAM: 8.0GB PC3-12800 DDR3L SDRAM 1600 MHz
HDD: 1TB 5400 RPM (varies)

The only thing holding this laptop back is the HDD. At 5400 RPM, this doesn’t seem adequate, for a 7200 RPM HDD would be more appropriate. However, the 5400 RPM HDD can be replaced with a SSD drive or a Seagate Momentus XT. Unfortunately, there is no word on the viewing angles of this display, but 1600×900 with a matte finish is still a noteworthy addition, not to mention this is a cheaper alternative to the 14-inch Razer Blade.
