Star Wars: The Old Republic Goes Free-to-Play

Well, to a point. Level 50 to be exact. Boy did some of us see this coming. After setting a free-to-play cap at level 15 earlier this year, EA has decided to extend it all the way to level 50 (or, most of the game), with the subscription system staying for those that want premium features:

This comes in light of EA’s recent admission that The Old Republic has fallen under 1 million subscribers with 40 percent of those leaving citing the subscription system as the reason.
