It’s Official: EA Wins the Poo

Taking down one of Wall Street’s most infamous companies in a negative popularity contest must certainly be refreshing. Okay, wow, where to begin? In the final duel between Electronic Arts and Bank of America, The Consumerist’s Worst Company in America battle crown was handily given to EA.

The gaming community did not disappoint with a 250,000 vote turnout as they vented their frustrations with Electronic Arts over various gaming atrocities. EA’s response after being queried from Kotaku was short and sweet:

We’re sure that British Petroleum, AIG, Philip Morris, and Halliburton are all relieved they weren’t nominated this year. We’re going to continue making award-winning games and services played by more than 300 million people worldwide.

Seriously. EA trounced Bank of America, garnering 64% of the vote.

Next battle: EA vs Kim Jong Il.
