More power, more pixels, and for the fans, more money out of your wallet.
As the energy of excitement builds within the hipster Apple fan community, saving their cash and meticulously planning their camping spots outside of an Apple store, the more rational and hardware-focused minds of Pixel Smashers will instead stare at the rumored specifications:
CPU: Quad-core Apple A6 Processor
Display: 2048×1536 Retina (!)
Price: Too much.
And, that’s about it. Seriously, that’s all we know. We’ll just have to wait until March 7th, after you enjoy your extra day in February.
Woah, that’s a pretty high res display there. I mean there are some tables still using something like 1024 x 600
.
Same as the phones… the resolution is not needed on such a small screen… (a slight resolution increase would be nice though lol) and the input method is too imprecise to make use of the large resolution while editing or photoshopping…
(and i never figured why they can’t just alter the architecture a bit and expand the manufacturing size for the phone screens and other stuff to get super high resolution monitors and etc.)
I wonder what it does to the power consumption…
I agree. However, I just want something above 1024 x 768. Maybe the 720p area would be a nice standard for tablets and smart phones?
iPad 3 announcement? Can’t say I saw that coming…
