You can thank Razer for the majority of the cost with their peripherals. To get every single piece of in-game Mass Effect 3 DLC, you may need to shell out a total of $870. In otherwords, you won’t have a 100% complete game. Ever. The list, compiled by Destructoid, doesn’t even include the cost of future DLC:
$80 – N7 Collector’s Edition
$209.99 for the Chimera 5.1 Headset – Collector Assault Rifle unlock DLC/Powerup
$34.99 for the Mousepad – Collector Assault Rifle unlock DLC/Powerup
$79.99 for the Messenger Bag – Collector Assault Rifle unlock DLC/Powerup
$24.99 for the iPhone case – Collector Assault Rifle unlock DLC/Powerup
$79.99 for the Mouse – Collector Assault Rifle unlock DLC/Powerup
$139.99 for the Keyboard – Collector Assault Rifle unlock DLC/Powerup
C’mon guys, there’s only so much milk you can get from a cow. Even billionaires wouldn’t buy all that.
Yet, it may not be as bad as some might think. As Derangel was keen to point out, a lot of the DLC bonuses, such as the Razer peripheral item, appear to be the same thing, making the $870 an inflated number.

Sigh. People need to stop posting this and LOOK at what the items are. Most of them are the SAME DAMN THING and they’re also UNLOCKS. The ONLY exclusive items are in the N7/DD editions of the game (possibly the pre-order ones as well) and the grand total for that is $80 (plus tax depending where you buy it). So to get everything you only “Need” to pre-order the collector’s edition. Over TEN TIMES less than what that sensationalist piece of shit article suggests. Shit like this why the gaming press will NEVER be considering real journalism.
Even excluding the non in-game stuff it’s still fucking pathetic for a game that has not even been released.
If people are dumb enough to buy all this stuff for unlocks, well as the saying goes “a fool and his money are easily parted”.
Which is why they will make a shit ton of money and it will only get worst and worst.
EA are really going out of their way to take away from the game and charge you for it. Even if it is only a load of unimportant stuff, we are still meant to pay £40-£45 for the game – this is not a small amount of money – then pay much more for additional content.
I’m all for DLC but all this pre-launch BS is a joke.
and then they complain about rising piracy

Oh c’mon people. Do you really want the special assault rifle and the extra special sparkly shepard skin? Just buy what you want.
Plus derangel is right. Wtf is this number?
