Well, it’s confirmed unless it gets delayed again in which it really wouldn’t be confirmed. Really. Yes, we’ve all been guessing around this timetable for a while, but the head honcho (Satoru Iwata) himself has spilled the beans that the launch will be “in time for the crucial year-end shopping season later this year”.
Planned regions are the usual: Japan, USA, Kangarooland Australia, and the EU.

It’s a likely release date and it still give consumers a chance to see more about the system at this years E3.
Any release earlier than holidays 2012 would be a mistake. I hope they make some major announcements at E3, because right now I’m not impressed with the way the Wii U is shaping up at all. The only thing that would even make me consider buying it would be to get the inevitable Super Smash Brothers sequel.
