PCI Express 4.0 In the Works

Of course we probably won’t see it come out for at least another four years. With PCI Express 3.0 still in the midst of being adopted, what else does the PCI Special Interest Group have to do? Why, design a better one of course!

The new “working” standards for the future PCI Express 4.0 will sport 16 gigatransfers of data per second, twice the amount offered by 3.0 specifications and will be designed to be compatible with tablets. The full details sadly, won’t be out until 2014 or 2015, when we’re all dead.
