StarCraft 2 gets AO rating in Korea

With all of the illegal bits going on here and there over in Korea, what else could go wrong with the StarCraft franchise? Oh right, why not slam the sequel with an Adult Only rating? StarCraft 2 is treated as a major sport in Korea and this will definitely come as a shock for some of the major fans that may be too young for this new imposed restriction. However, all isn’t lost for the Zerg rush nation. Blizzard has a chance to appeal the current rating that the board has decided upon.

According to a report from The Korea Times, the ratings board has been getting tougher on depictions of violence, foul language and drug use… Previous StarCraft games, like the original PC release and the Brood War expansion, carry ratings designating the game appropriate for players 12 and up.

Blizzard can object to StarCraft II’s adults-only rating within the next 30 days.
