Oh Valve, why must you torture us so? The recently leaked Dota 2 client from Vietnam appears to have a conveniently named folder dubbed “ep3”. Now of course, this could mean just about anything, but some dedicated fans have managed to obtain some lines of code that reference a flamethrower and ice gun, among others:

/src/game/server/ep3/weaponizer_liquid.cpp
/src/game/server/ep3/weaponizer_metal.cpp
/src/game/server/ep3/weapon_flamethrower.cpp
Valve is no stranger to hinting at future games in odd ways, but like before, this may just be some more wishful thinking from fans.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Valve put those hints in there on purpose. They may have even been involved in the Dota 2 client leak in Vietnam. Valve has always had a funny and innovative way to advertise and garner interest in their games, so all this being coordinated by them wouldn’t be completely unlikely.
