Announced by Valve, the tournament will be held at this year’s Gamescom in Germany. The tournament will be held in Cologne Germany from Aug 17 to Aug 21 and will feature a set of the 16 best Dota teams from around the planet, competing for the staggering $1 million prize.
To put that in perspective, StarCraft II‘s GSL tournament top prize is only $87,000, a testament to how much weight Valve is pulling to market their new game.
Casting will be provided in English, Chinese, Russian, and German with gaming hardware being provided by NVidia.
