I picked this up yesterday (got the last copy too). I've only played about 2 hours so far, I like the battle system and the world seems interesting (and huge). So far the biggest downfall is you can't turn off English voice acting, which is absolutely terrible. They aren't annoying (vanille/kids from Lost Odyssey) but they're so bland boring and just reading the script. The game is almost pretty looking...aside from the massive amounts of Jaggies and some flicker.
Turns out, using center BBcode makes triforcing really hard when used with text.

Giant Bomb's quick look for it made me want to pick it up. So I'll probably do so at some point.

It's getting some bad reviews mate. XD
GT was sampling the voice acting on it and.... I have to agree, it sounds awful.

The VA is horrendous. Sadly it doesn't cross into so bad its good/funny territory. Its just bad. Thankfully you can turn off all of the voice acting completely. Makes the game much for bearable. The worst offender I've met so far is L'arc. His VA does not emote one single bit. The side characters show more emotion then he does. Its not Baiten Kaitos or Enchanted Arms level bad, but its getting there. I'd place it somewhere between FFX and Baiten Kaitos for horrible VAness.
The rest of the game is fun though. Very old school, neat battle system, and hey its $40. With the VA turned off the story is much more interesting. Ignition needs to either put some damn effort into their voice acting or put a Japanese voice track into their games.

You know....I never really found Baten Kaitos to be that bad for the voices.

They don't really bother me that much, but a lot of people really hate them so I use it as an easy benchmark for bad voice acting. Enchanted Arms takes the bad VA prize in my book. If only for Makato. I almost yelled "YES!" when he died.

I didn't mind Baiten Kaitos' voice acting too much... well, except at certain scenes; like during that kid I had to rescue from that giant tree and she sounded like a man attempting to do a girly voice.
Actually, it probably was a man trying to do a girly voice.
